When I tell you that I have two 18-gallon totes CRAMMED full of fleece scraps from my costuming days, I am not exaggerating. It might actually be more, given my tendency to hide things from myself in the workroom. Luckily, fleece turns out to be the PERFECT core for these Washable Sponges!
Three layers of fleece are wrapped with 100% cotton flannel, giving you a soft absorbent outer shell that won't scratch your counters or your favorite pots and pans. One side has a layer of netting over-top the flannel to give you *just* a little bit of help in the elbow grease department. My favorite part - the netting is recycled vegetable bags! Who knew my addiction to Brussels sprouts would come in handy!
Washable sponges can be tossed in the washing machine with the rest of your household linens, or you can add them to the top rack of the dishwasher. That fleece core will soak up A LOT of liquid, so if you go the dishwasher route, make sure you ready to wring it out!
